About Us
Allevol was started in 2005 by Taka and Anna Okabe - then a couple, now married - as a hobby project.
At the time, Taka was searching for a pair of jeans he could wear on a dress-down day at work. He couldn’t find what he was looking for.
Growing up in Japan in the mid-90s, he had been immersed in mid-century American vintage culture. Japanese reproduction denim, carefully made & deeply considered, was everywhere in his teenage years. But in London in 2005, those kinds of jeans were almost impossible to find.
So he decided to make a pair for himself.
What began as a personal search quietly became something more. One sample led to another. A hobby turned into a pursuit. And that pursuit eventually became Allevol.
From the beginning, the intention was simple: to make clothes that feel good - thoughtful, well-made pieces you return to without thinking.
Clothes that fit naturally into your life and stay there.
What we make today is the result of that continued pursuit, a process of steady refinement, distilling each piece to its essential form.
